This year, Keith Elkington Transport have forged a strong working relationship with foodservice equipment and parts specialists, Marren. KET began working with Marren and their Procurement and Logistics Manager, Lee Scroxton, back in March when the firm made the decision to find a specialised transport company who had the experience to manage the deliveries of their products.
Lee said: “Prior to working with KET, we carried out all nationwide deliveries of catering equipment ourselves, with an extremely small delivery team and just one van.
“This shortage of resource limited the service we were able to offer our customers, meaning we were constantly letting them down and unable to deliver their equipment on time.”
Staff at Marren were also faced with health and safety issues on a regular basis due to the size and weight of the equipment being delivered and the nature of their customer’s premises.
“Following a recommendation from one KET’s existing customers, we decided to give them a try and from the outset it was obvious that they were geared up to carryout the task in hand,” said Lee.
In the first instance, the KET team were receiving Alto Shaam and Merrychef equipment in bulk from Marren, which was then stored until it was required for delivery.
Once an order for Marren’s products has been placed, KET pick the required model, serial number and then set about delivering to site with two members of staff – and will even install the new unit and remove and dispose of the existing unit on site.

“In addition, KET’s staff and vehicles are equipped with the correct tools to carryout the job safely, and their friendly staff liaise with our customers prior to all deliveries to ensure that they go as smoothly as possible.
“Working with KET has allowed us to become more efficient, ensure the safety of our staff and offer our customers the professional service they are looking for.”
